CURED is coming!

I just added this post to Levi's caring bridge site last night:

I could not believe it today when I logged on to update Levi's journal and saw how long it has been since my last update. Life is moving quickly these days! Levi has started 1st grade, and he is thriving. He is also loving soccer again this year. It is wonderful to see him enjoy all the "normal" things of being a 7 year old.

October 15 is a HUGE day for Levi. On October 15, 2009 he took his last dose of chemotherapy. This October 15 will be his 5 year milestone. He will be declared CURED. It brings tears to my eyes to type those words. I remember when he was just a baby of 2 and going through so much. There were days I didn't know how we would ever make it to this day, and here it is. Amazing! We are so thankful. Thankful God watched over him during his treatment, and thankful He gave men the minds to do research to continuously discover ways to battle cancer. We are also so thankful for every one of you, for your prayers and for all the ways your supported us through this journey.

To celebrate CURED we have decided to walk in the Light the Night Walk again to support The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We wanted to do something to help all the children still going through treatment and all the children who will be diagnosed in the future. Team Mighty will be walking in the Plano walk on October 22. We would be honored to have you walk with us if you are interested. If you would like to participate through donations, we would also greatly appreciate your support for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The link for Team Mighty's page is http://pages.lightthenight.org/ntxok/Plano11/TeamMighty. If you have any questions, my email address is emily_rowland@hotmail.com.

The name Team Mighty came from a nickname Randy gave Levi long before he was diagnosed. He called him Mighty Vite. Little did we know how applicable Mighty would be for Levi's nickname. He was mighty in his fight, and we are overjoyed to be reaching this milestone.
